ABOUT PROJECT
Reconnect with yourself. Regenerate the world. This is the guiding principle of Unity Love, a holistic wellness marketplace designed as much more than a simple service directory. The platform’s purpose is twofold: for explorers (individuals seeking holistic wellness), it offers a trusted, intuitive gateway to discover over 100 transformative services – from yoga and meditation to breathwork, shamanic ceremonies, and somatic movement. For facilitators (practitioners, coaches, and retreat centers), Unity Love provides a powerful business tool to publish, manage, and grow their offerings, reaching a curated community of over 10,000 active seekers.
Founded by David Molina Perez, Javier Marco Barba, and Ramón Peris, Unity Love was built to solve a fragmented market. Before this platform, explorers struggled to vet authentic practitioners, while skilled facilitators found it hard to connect with the right audience. Today, with more than 200 active facilitators carefully vetted, the marketplace creates a circular economy of trust and transformation. Creating a holistic wellness marketplace of this scale meant focusing on both user experience and robust business logic.

Key Challenges
Developing Unity Love came with its fair share of learning moments – especially around aligning expectations. Despite thorough discussions and clear agreements on scope and workflow, the team discovered that sometimes a client’s vision continues to evolve after approval.
What both sides initially saw as a clear feature could later be viewed differently, leading to thoughtful conversations about whether something was functioning as intended or needed a new approach. These moments became opportunities to deepen collaboration rather than sources of friction.

Solution Highlights
To build Unity Love efficiently and reliably, Roobykon Software turned to the Sharetribe Web Template as the project’s foundation – a classic example of Sharetribe marketplace development that skips reinventing the wheel. This choice allowed the team to focus on tailoring the platform to the client’s unique vision. By leveraging Sharetribe’s Core API alongside a modern stack – Node.js, Express, and React.js – the team created a responsive, single-page application that felt smooth and intuitive. React Router handled seamless navigation, while Redux kept the state predictable across the growing number of user interactions.
On top of that, Roobykon used Final Form to manage complex user inputs with ease, turning potentially messy forms into a clean, reliable experience. The result demonstrates wellness platform development at its best – flexible yet structured.

THE PROCESS
01
Project Kickoff (April 15, 2025): We officially began work on Unity Love in mid-April. Since the client had their own designer, my team could focus purely on implementation rather than spending time on mockups – a perfect starting point for creating a holistic wellness marketplace with clear boundaries.
02
Reviewing the Initial Design: We received a finished design from the client’s team and went through every section to agree on functionality. We made sure to provide clear feedback upfront so everyone was aligned before a single line of code was written.
03
Adapting to Design Updates: As development progressed, the design naturally evolved with new elements being added. We treated these updates as part of the creative process rather than disruptions, adjusting the code as needed.
04
Setting Up Weekly Communication: Roobykon Software established a consistent rhythm by scheduling a weekly meeting on the same day and time. Every Monday, the client received a detailed report of what we had completed during the previous week.
05
Daily Collaboration on Slack: Most of our day-to-day conversations happened on Slack, which kept things fast and informal. This allowed us to ask quick clarifying questions without waiting for the next formal meeting.
06
Fixing a Communication Workflow: We worked with the client to create a simple rule: they submit a request plus design, then we review everything, provide a quote, and only after approval do we execute the task in priority order. This small change saved us from countless future headaches – a key lesson in building a wellness platform with agile governance.
07
Final Launch (July 3, 2025): After nearly three months of steady development, we published Unity Love. Seeing the platform go live made all those weekly reports and workflow tweaks completely worth it.
Main Features
Cancellation policy for providers
Providers can cancel bookings even after they have been approved. This feature reduces potential conflicts between clients and providers, helping maintain a positive experience across the platform.
Different signup flow for different subscription plans
Right after registration, users are redirected to the subscriptions page, with access to all other pages restricted until a plan is chosen. User permissions change based on the selected subscription – the free plan limits the number of listings a user can create, while paid subscriptions remove that limit entirely for unrestricted use.
Subscription privileges for specific users via the admin console
An admin can open the user list in the Sharetribe console, select any user, and manually grant premium benefits until a chosen expiration date. When that date passes without an admin extension, the user automatically reverts to the free plan and loses paid privileges – though they can still purchase a subscription on their own. If the admin extends the date, the user continues enjoying premium benefits seamlessly.
RESULTS
Despite some early communication challenges, Roobykon Software turned the Unity Love collaboration into a success story built on clarity and structure. By establishing a transparent workflow where every request required a complete design, a thorough review, and an approved quote before any work began, both teams gained peace of mind. This approach eliminated guesswork and prevented scope creep, allowing Roobykon to focus on what they do best: delivering solid, well-tested features. In other words, this was creating a wellness platform that balanced out‑of‑the‑box speed with custom depth.
As a result, Unity Love launched with a stable foundation that included smart subscription logic, flexible cancellation policies, and admin-controlled privileges. More importantly, the partnership left both sides more confident in future collaborations – a textbook outcome of custom Sharetribe marketplace development done right.

Lessons from Cordially
Throughout the development of Unity Love – a holistic wellness platform development project from start to finish – our team at Roobykon learned that clear communication isn’t just about talking more, but about creating the right systems. We faced moments where the client’s vision shifted after approvals, and we had to gently hold the line on scope without damaging the relationship.
We also learned that documenting every workflow detail upfront saves weeks of back-and-forth later. Most importantly, we discovered that saying “not yet” to a request can be more professional than saying “yes” and struggling to deliver.
