ABOUT PROJECT
In response to the growing challenges of organizing events without sufficient resources, the Latvian team behind Eventify recognized the need for a platform to connect people with event-related rentals to people searching for such services. Eventify emerged as a groundbreaking event-organizing solution designed to simplify the planning process, which allows individuals to effortlessly find and offer various resources for occasions ranging from small gatherings to large-scale festivals and concerts. The platform serves as a bridge, bringing together vendors with diverse offerings, such as chairs, tents, decorations, technical support, musicians, and more while enabling users to secure these services for a specified duration at a fixed price.
Faced with the monumental task of creating a comprehensive space for rental services of various kinds, the Eventify team strategically decided to collaborate with Roobykon. Recognizing our expertise in development, the vendor-event organizer platform owners entrusted the project to skilled specialists, ensuring a swift and effective execution of their vision.

Key Challenges
The creation of the Eventify, Latvian event platform, confronted several challenges, including crafting advanced features for premium customers, integrating diverse payment methods (credit cards, cash, and a “pay later” option), and creating a multilingual marketplace, initially supporting English and Latvian. Furthermore, customizing fees for platform administrators was crucial, offering the flexibility to alter fees, provide discounts, or present special offers.
The project was strategically divided into three milestones. However, evolving client requirements necessitated the incorporation of additional features. Our dedication to meeting these dynamic business needs and adapting swiftly was paramount. Consequently, these supplementary tasks were assimilated into the final phase of development.
Ultimately, the Eventify vendor collaboration yielded exceptional results, perfectly aligning with Eventify’s expectations. Solution Highlights
For seamless payments, Stripe Connect was integrated to facilitate secure transactions on the marketplace, enabling event organizers and participants to manage payments effortlessly. Google Maps API was employed to offer users the ability to search and explore events based on location, enhancing their experience. Additionally, Mailgun was utilized to send customized email notifications, ensuring that users stay informed with personalized event updates.
To streamline the sign-up and login process, Eventify incorporates Facebook and Google authentication, allowing users to easily access the event-organizing tool using their existing credentials. The backend infrastructure of Eventify is powered by Sharetribe, providing a solid foundation for marketplace functionality, while Node and React were chosen for building the dynamic and responsive frontend.

Main Features
Flexible booking options
Customers can book services on a daily basis or opt for hourly bookings, adding a layer of customization not commonly found in traditional platforms. This feature is particularly beneficial for events that don’t conform to the typical 9-to-5 schedule, such as overnight gatherings or parties, providing users with the flexibility to book services from, for example, 6.00 p.m. to 3.00 a.m., thereby catering to a diverse range of customer needs and event types.
Multi-seat booking feature
Addressing a common limitation in rental marketplaces, we introduced a multi-seat booking feature within a single listing. This innovation allows providers to showcase the availability of multiple items (like tickets or rental equipment) at once, enabling several customers to make reservations simultaneously.
Premium features for loyal customers
Regular users benefit from reduced marketplace fees, making repeated transactions more economical. Additionally, we delivered flexible payment options, including the ability to pay in cash upon meeting with the provider or to utilize a “pay later” system, which is particularly advantageous for event organizers who may need to manage cash flow around the event’s schedule.
Customizable vendor fees
This feature allows for tailored financial arrangements, providing the flexibility to support different vendor types, from individual providers to event agencies or businesses with regular and multiple listings. By enabling customized fee structures, we ensured that the platform remains competitive and attractive to a wide range of vendors, thereby enriching the variety and quality of services offered.
Multilingual platform
Eventify now embraces linguistic accessibility by initially offering services in English and Latvian, catering to both international users and the native audience. This strategic choice broadens the platform’s reach and enhances user experience by allowing customers to navigate, communicate, and transact in their preferred language.
RESULTS
The Eventify team desired to create a unique space where both vendors and customers could build wholesome and strong relationships. The marketplace is now a perfect place for event holders to find all the necessary equipment or premises and for the vendors to provide high-class fixed-price event services as well. Roobykon developers have brought all the client’s ideas to life and built a strong foundation for future productive cooperation with a young but promising company.

Lessons from Eventify
Through this project, Roobykon honed its technical expertise and deepened its understanding of the intricate dynamics of the event organization sector.
One of the primary lessons learned was the importance of understanding and addressing the specific pain points within the event planning industry. Eventify was conceptualized in response to the acute challenge of organizing events without easy access to necessary resources. This foundational understanding drove the development process, ensuring that this event equipment platform meticulously catered to the needs of both vendors and event organizers. Roobykon’s approach underscored the significance of a user-centric design, focusing on creating a seamless, intuitive interface that facilitated easy navigation and transaction between parties.
Moreover, working within tight deadlines highlighted the need for clear and continuous communication among team members and stakeholders.
